Successful managers and supervisors invest time and attention in their employees, building trust and rapport by providing regular coaching and feedback. Appraising performance is a management skill that involves accurately summarizing and effectively communicating an employee’s accomplishments. The appraisal process includes discussing the employee’s development needs and self-assessment in a constructive conversation.
The purpose of this workshop is to help you conduct well-planned performance appraisals that result in performance improvement and employee commitment.
When you’ve completed this module, you will be able to:
- Link performance evaluations to stated expectations.
- Use descriptive language to coach for improvement.
- Conduct effective performance appraisal discussions.
